Typhoon

At the time of this writing (Sept 3, 2013), six Typhoons are at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus. They are there as a precaution against escalating tensions in Syria. Meanwhile, back in the UK it has been announced that two squadrons of Typhoons will move to RAF Lossiemouth, including the former Harrier unit of No. 1 Sqdn. The Typhoon went into RAF service in early August of 2007, and now shares the bulk of Strike Command duty with the Tornado. It also serves the air forces of Germany, Italy, Austria, Spain and Saudi Arabia. It is anticipated the type will be active in the RAF to at least 2043. The FSX aircraft featured is freeware.
