The Tucano is a Northern Ireland built version of the Brazilian aircraft of the same name. In Belfast it is built under license by Shorts, in Brazil it is built by Embraer. Tucano T1 entered RAF service in 1988 as a replacement for the Jet Provost, deliveries continued to 1993, and the type is still in service today, often sporting amazing colour schemes for the official display aircraft each year. Although only used as a trainer by the RAF, an argument was made in 2007 to develop the Tucano as a strike aircraft, this option went nowhere however. The FSX aircraft featured is freeware.
