Tristar

The Lockheed L1011 was an expensive proposition. The protracted development of the Rolls Royce RB211 engines just about put the famous British company out of business, and Lockheed suffered great disadvantage as rival DC-10 moved ahead into the market, powered by General Electrics. The RAF took delivery of ex-British Airways and Pan-Am Tristars in 1984. Converted by Marshalls of Cambridge, they continue to serve to this day as tankers and transports, awaiting replacement by the Airbus A330 MRTT. The FSX aircraft featured is from JustFlight.
