As a young teenager building Airfix models, this aircraft was the MRCA (Multi Role Combat Aircraft). Only later, after I had left model kits behind me, was it to be named Tornado, entering RAF service in 1979. Tornado was destined to see active combat in the Gulf War in 1991, Kosovo in 1999, the second Gulf conflict in 2003, Afghanistan in 2009, and Libya in 2011. As this is written in 2013, the GR4’s are still active, but the long-nosed F3’s have been replaced by Typhoons. (Later note:- The remaining Tornados were retired from the RAF in 2019). The FSX aircraft featured is freeware.
