King Air

The Beechcraft King Air entered service with the RAF in 2004 with 45 (R) Squadron at RAF Cranwell. According to the RAF website, “The King Air B200 has performed extremely well and has proved popular with students and instructors alike. Its combination of a well-proven airframe with advanced cockpit and systems, make it an ideal training platform for the new generation of multi-engine aircraft entering RAF service.” Most recently, a derivative of the Super King Air has joined the RAF in the guise of the R.1 Shadow with 14 Squadron at RAF Waddington.
