The Jet Provost may never have been glamorous, but it was certainly capable. It entered service with the RAF in the same year I was born, 1957, and it remained on active duty till the early 1990’s. Early T.3 models were unpressurized, later T.5s were easily-identified with larger canopies, and with pressurization were able to reach above 36,000 ft at a climb rate of 4,000 ft per minute.
