As a teenager, I watched an RAF recruiting video one night at our ATC meeting, it featured the Hercules. Two things stay in my mind to this day, the serial XV192, and the music that acted as a backdrop to air-to-air footage. Like that music, the Hercules has always had a majestic character in my eyes. First flown in 1954, entering RAF squadron service in 1966, the aircraft still resists attempts to be finally dropped from the RAF inventory. These days the fleet is primarily based at RAF Brize Norton. The FSX aircraft featured is from Captain Sim.
