The English Electric Canberra was designed and built to the requirement for a direct successor to the wartime Mosquito. The general similarity to the Meteor gives away the fact that this was Britain’s first jet bomber, and of the same vintage as that first jet fighter. The Canberra entered RAF service in 1951, and it saw a multitude of roles, from bomber to reconnaissance, from electronic warfare to target tug. It remained in service until 2006 when it was stood down at RAF Marham. The FS9/FSX aircraft featured is from Flying Stations.
