The Buccaneer, affectionately known as “the banana jet”, was a naval strike aircraft first flown in 1958, and then entering service with the Royal Navy in the early 60’s aboard HMS Ark Royal. It was considered by the RAF back then, but was beaten by the proposed (later cancelled) TSR2 aircraft. Ironically, after the carriers were scrapped, the ex-navy Buccaneers were transferred to the RAF, and were added to by new-build examples designated the Buccaneer S2b. Famous for ultra low level operations, the Buccaneer saw service in the Gulf war. It was retired in 1994. The FSX aircraft featured is freeware.
